Women's Track Competes at Len Paddock Invitational

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State women's track team took part in the University of Michigan Len Paddock Invitational Friday and Saturday in Ann Arbor. There were no team scores kept, but the Spartans posted three top-three finishes, all in distance events.
Highlighting the Spartan efforts were second- and third-place finishes by Leah Nilsson and Jen Denkins, respectively, in the 3,000-meter run. Nilsson posted a time of 10 minutes, 7.99 seconds, good for second place, while Denkins was close behind in third at 10:09.59. Fellow Spartan Elyse Adelson took fifth in the 3,000 (10:17.99).
Karyn Duba also posted a top-three finish for the Spartans, claiming second in the 1,500-meter run (4:40.63).
The Len Paddock Invitational marked the final tune-up for the Spartans before the Big Ten Championships, May 21-23 at Purdue.
