Women's Double Duo Wins At ITA Midwest Regional

The Michigan State women's tennis team is competing in the ITA Midwest Regional in Columbus, Ohio this week. Natasha Skogerboe (Coon Rapids, Minn.) and Brooke Townsend (East Lansing, Mich.) advanced to the third round of the ITA Midwest Regional doubles draw on Friday Nov. 5 in Columbus, Ohio. The duo received a first-round bye and then defeated Roth and Senieh of Xavier, 7-5, 7-5 to advance.
Townsend also competed in singles play on Friday, losing to Becky Narnum of Notre Dame, 6-1, 6-1 in the main draw. In consolation play, she defeated Jessica Landes of UNI, 7-5, 6-3, to stay alive.
No team scores are being kept at the ITA Midwest Region Tournament. Matches are being played in tournament form with doubles in the qualifying rounds being pro sets and in the main draw two out of three sets.
