Ohio State Defeats Women's Soccer

EAST LANSING, MICH. - The Michigan State women?s soccer team (5-7-1, 3-4-1 Big Ten) lost to the Ohio State Buckeyes (9-4-2, 4-3-1), 1-0, Friday afternoon in Columbus, Ohio.
The first half was scoreless until the 39th minute when Buckeye freshman Lindsay Eckles fired a shot over MSU goalkeeper Sara Kloosterman (Farmington, Mich.). Ohio State maintained the 1-0 lead for the rest of the game.
Buckeye goalkeeper Amber Barnes collected her seventh shutout of the season on three saves. Kloosterman recorded four saves for the Spartans. Ohio State outshot MSU on the match, 20-7.
Michigan State returns to action on Sunday, October 17 to face the Penn State Nittany Lions in State College, Pa. The game begins at 1 p.m.
